Additional Insurance Coverage Options
When shopping for insurance, it's important to make sure you have all of your bases covered. The policy you think is complete may not be enough to cover you in certain types of accidents. Consider the following options for additional coverage:
Rental Car Reimbursement—This type of insurance pays for a rental car if your car cannot be driven. Most insurance companies in Texas set a daily spending limit for car rental services, and this policy can usually only be used if your car is stolen, or is being repaired for damages that are covered in your policy. For example, if you have collision coverage and your car is damaged in a collision, your insurance will cover costs for a rental car you use only while your car is unavailable.
Towing and Labor Services—This type of insurance comes in handy when you break down on the side of the road. Towing and Labor insurance pays to have your car towed when it cannot be driven. Towing and Labor also pays labor charges associated with such circumstances - charges that can become very high very quickly. For example, if you need a tire changed, Towing and Labor will pay to take care of any expenses needed to change the tire on location, such as a roadside services, or to have your car towed to a location where the necesary repairs can be performed.
Tape/CD Coverage—This type of coverage will cover the costs to replace any tapes or CDs you have in your car when your car is stolen, or when the items are damaged or destroyed in a car accident. If you keep your entire selection of CDs in your car, or if you frequently park your car in neighborhoods where street crime is a frequent occurance, you may want to consider purchasing this type of coverage.
