Medical Payments Coverage covers medical costs that you and/or your passengers may incur during an automobile accident. 

What is covered by medical payments coverage?

Doctor visits, hospital stays, and funeral expenses are all usually covered under a Medical Payments Insurance Policy.

Who is covered by medical payments coverage?

Anyone listed on your insurance policy is covered.  You should list your family members on your policy in order to ensure all are protected.

In most cases, anyone who is in your car during an accident is also covered by your Medical Payments Insurance Coverage. 

Some Medical Payments Insurance Policies can also cover you and your family members while you are in other people’s vehicles. 

What is not covered by medical payments insurance?

Non-Medical related expenses such as automobile damage are not covered your Medical Payments insurance policy. People not listed on your policy are not covered, and people who are not in your car during the accident are not covered by your Medical Payments Insurance Coverage. 

How much medical payments coverage should I get?

Though Texans are not required by law to have Medical Payments Insurance, it can be a handy form of auto insurance to purchase.  Drivers can usually choose to purchase between $1,00 and $100,00 in Medical Payments Insurance.
